Europe´s leading communications group appoints its first European business development director

14th January, 2006 – Europe’s leading communications consultancy, Pleon, has announced the appointment of Fraser Butters as its first European Business Development Director.

Only last week Pleon underlined its dominant position in the market with the announcement that it had added a further six Pleon-branded offices in Central and Eastern Europe and Russia. The consultancy now boasts the largest agency footprint in Europe with more than 850 staff in 31 Pleon-branded offices in 15 European countries and representation in a further 14 countries across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Fraser Butters spent almost 10 years at Harvard PR - culminating in its acquisition by Chime – and was the director responsible for establishing new brands and offices in central London. Following Harvard, Fraser spent periods as a director at both Burson Marsteller and Spreckley Partners. Latterly, he was a founding director of his own consultancy, Pervasive PR.

Commenting on his appointment, Fraser said: “Having only relatively recently established my own agency, I’ve always said that it would take an exceptional opportunity to persuade me back into the mainstream consultancy world. Without a doubt, this exciting new role at Pleon represents that opportunity and I relish the challenge.”
