24th May 2006, London - Pleon, the leading European communications consultancy, has appointed Jennifer Helfer as the first managing director of Pleon’s London office.

The position is a new role within the UK office designed to further strengthen the leadership of the existing management team. Prior to her promotion, Helfer led Pleon’s Corporate and Marketing practices in the UK and was an integral part of Pleon’s global business development team.

Commenting on the London appointment, Pleon CEO Timo Sieg said: "Our London-based operation is a crown-jewel in our Pleon portfolio and a significant area of growth for us this year. We made the decision to promote from within the company for this position because of Jennifer’s tremendous client contributions, her international background and her existing relationships with the consultants and resources we have around the globe."

Helfer left London-based Firefly Communications in December, 2004 to join Pleon UK as an Associate Director. Prior to that, she worked with SME Corporate Finance where she built a partnership of London-based services firms to support the growth and capitalisation of early-stage technology companies. Originally, from the United States, Helfer’s previous roles include, serving as the Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications for iGATE, a $500M, NASDAQ-traded IT services holding company.

Helfer will report directly to Pleon UK CEO, Geoff Beattie.
