Pleon Germany Named 2005 Agency of the Year

Prestigious Holmes Report cites award-winning work and expanded services.

December 2005. Pleon has progressed from a standing start to Germany’s Agency of the Year 2005. The well-known US public relations newsletter, the Holmes Report, says that the German market leader has shown impressive development over the past year. Pleon was awarded this distinction based on its award-winning work and expanded service offerings.

The report notes that the launch of the new Pleon brand has been highly successful. Pleon emerged in October 2004 from the EEC Group’s merger with Brodeur Worldwide. Just one year after its launch, the German team has received numerous national and international accolades, including eight nominations and four gold awards from the 2005 European Sabre Awards – a testament to the high quality of Pleon consulting in Germany.

Pleon credits its success to the networking of its people and content. It can consolidate teams of experts across borders and functional practices to better integrate and customize services for a specific client need. “In this way we are bundling our know-how to deliver a higher quality of consulting to our clients. It has also enabled us to lay the groundwork for a common corporate culture very swiftly,” says Timo Sieg, CEO of Pleon in Germany.

He said the two latest examples of networking include the expansion of Pleon’s financial communications practice and the enhancement of its event and sponsorship competence through the acquisition of the Bob Bomliz Group in Germany.

The Holmes Report also emphasised that Pleon’s rigorous European alignment, regular publication of studies on current communication topics and large-scale cooperation with well-known research institutions all contributed to its first-class rating.

Pleon Germany employs 370 consultants in nine offices located in Berlin, Bonn, Düsseldorf, Dresden, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich and Stuttgart. The agency provides strategic counsel and communications services to over 200 clients from corporate enterprises, institutions and non-profit organisations.
